Boondocks Fun Center Kaysville is a 10-acre family entertainment facility, located 20 miles north of Salt Lake City. Inside the walls of its 50,000-square-foot building, people can relax and have fun at a 20-lane bowling area, a video and redemption arcade and prize center, a two-story laser tag arena, a soft-play area for children and a Back Porch Grill Restaurant that serves pizzas, hamburgers, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Boondocks also offer a variety of outdoor attractions that include two elaborate 18-hole miniature golf courses, a bumper boat pond, a four-stall batting cage and two go-kart racetracks.
Boondocks owners Randy Fullmer and Damon Day have a rich history in Family Fun Centers. They began as contractors who built and refined the popular centers featuring outdoor go-karts, miniature golf courses, batting cages and bumper boats. Their experience in developing successful business models for family entertainment has elevated them to well-respected leaders within the industry.
The partnership of Boondocks and Brunswick became a reality when the owners realized the impact the industry leader Brunswick has in the marketplace, coupled with Brunswick’s ability to deliver the expertise and knowledge that allows center owners to capitalize on their investments. From consulting services regarding how Boondocks’ operational model would tie-in with the bowling lanes, to determining the target audience, to pricing, Brunswick provided solutions. After speaking with other FEC owners that partnered with Brunswick and realizing the effect of their state-of-the-art product and consulting services, Fullmer and Day chose Brunswick.
“Our bowling lanes by Brunswick feature comfortable couch seating, large flat panel scoring displays, huge four-lane-wide video screens featuring music videos and sporting events in HD,” said Fullmer. “This investment is part of our ongoing evaluation of our business, finding ways to improve and differentiate us from the competition. Keeping things new and fresh is a large part of this effort. Service and facility upgrades that enhance the guest’s experience, like adding the Brunswick bowling lanes and amenities, are essential to the continued success of this business.”
