New Student Unions Build Bowling Centers

Interest in youth bowling and collegiate bowling – not only competitively, but also recreationally – is on the rise. And now, two new separate student unions will offer students bowling to meet this growing interest.

Darton College, Albany, Ga., recently completed its new student union. Deemed a place of entertainment, rest, and relaxation, Darton’s student union has four Brunswick-equipped bowling lanes, including Pro Lane™, Frameworx® furniture, GS-X™ pinsetters and Vector® scoring equipment.

The new student union also features a climbing wall, three racquetball courts, student study lounge areas, interaction areas, a table tennis area, a billiard area, TV and electronic gaming areas.

Additionally, after suffering extensive damage from Hurricane Katrina, Dillard University, New Orleans, La., is rebuilding and transforming its campus, and including a new Student Union and Recreation, Health and Wellness Center. The 55,000-square-foot facility will house a four-lane bowling center, outfitted entirely with Brunswick equipment. The new building will be LEED- (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified and will also will house a movie theatre, retail space and a student common area showcasing artwork of local artists and Dillard University staff and students.
